'06 Audiophole factory sub issue

Just purchased an '06 KR SCrew that has audiophile with 6-CD changer and sub. I immediately noticed that at louder volumes, the sub will fade out. Lower the volume, it fades back in. I was thinking the amp attached to the sub has some sort of limiter that cuts the power to the sub when the volume gets high. Does anyone know if this is something that can be changed with the factory stock sub and amp? The sub sounds good in my opinion, but some music I like loud, but with bass

maybe it has a built in overload protector... like a rev limiter on an engine..

Anyone else... Ford tech's?

I have been wondering the same thing.. actually I already know it has a limiter, but what I want to know is if it can be disabled. Now obviously I am not going to play it so loud I blow my speakers, but I would like to squeeze that little extra bit of sound that I know the sub can handle, out. Any thoughts or idea's would be much appreciated. Thanks
