Idq 10???

ok so i got an IDQ 10 and a enclosure from supercrew sound.. its a dual 4 ohm, and i have a mono kicker amp. KX600.1.. My problem is that i just dont think is preforming like i think it should. I had a MTX 10 single voice coil 4 ohm with a MTX 2 channel 275X bridged in my old truck, and it blew this one outta the water... any help?
thanks

Without reading up on the specs, I'm guessing a wiring problem...

Do you have the sub wired in series or parallel? Do you have the gain set properly? What about your ground? Did you buy the sub new or used? The box volume should be fine.

What is it doing by "not performing properly"?

what if i got another mtx 6000 and pushed it with my kicker mono sub amp KX600.1? its a 2 ohm amp amd the mtx 6000 is a single 4 ohm voice coil. does that mean my amp watts is cut in half?

The IDQ sub is not that power hungry. i have ran 2 IDQ 10s D4's off of a cerwin vega amp for years...only 300 watt rms total to both.....150 a piece...and they sound amazing for what i have in them. i would never give up my idq's for a mtx at that......

just an opinion..! sounds like you may be overpowering it....
IF your wired in parallel....like i assume you are, then you are throwing 600 watts rms from your kicker into that sub. The sub only takes 250 rms 500 peak. i assume your box is sealed on top of that. A sealed box setup doesn't need tons of power thrown at it...

I think if it wasn't blown before you got it.....then you most likely blew it. Just an opinion.

Now, if you had 2 IDQ D2's......wired series on themself and then paralleled...then that would be perfect for your amp.

My first thoughts are I would have to agree with this.

How did you set the gain? What did you have it crossed at? Something I came accross this weekend on my new box...do you have an air leak? I did and I thought my subs were blown. With the power off, gently push the cone in. Do you hear air sucking in and out? Do you hear/feel a scratching noise when the cone goes in and out?

Definetly check your box for leaks also...good point. If that sub isn't blown (by chance)....then stop using it until you get another or something else.....to better suit your amp.

Hate to think of an IDQ being mistreated.......sigh...ha ha
