Diamond or MB quart

Im looking at purchasing a new set of 6.5 components for my 05 screw. Ive narrowed it down to two. The Diamond S600a's and the MB Quart PCE-216. Ive heard nothing but excellent things about both of them. Is anyone running either of these? Just looking for a bit of feed back.

Using the aluminum tweeter on the Diamond S600a versus S600s silk, I think they both would sound great when installed properly. I do not think there is a bad choice.

i'm looking into buying the MB's, but my question is will the 6.5 bolt right into the doors? i am going to buy 2 sets of the PCE's in the 5.25 or the 6.5.. which do you think?

ive got mbquarts in my truck, in the front i have the pce 216 you are considering- i had to trim a little to get the 6.5's in the door- but they are mounted securely- the tweeters are in the tweeter spot in the door- they sound absolutely amazing, the sound quality in the truck is perfect- the sound deading pre-existing muffles any reverb- just crisp clean perfect sound, and tight bass- i dont have a sub -was planning on it before i got this setup, but now im second guessing as it sounds so good.
in the back doors if have DKE 168 (6x9's) they sound amazing too!
sooo, you can guess my vote's for the MBQ's- you wont regret it!!

Do you have any pictures of how you got the 6.5's to fit in your doors? Or the 6x9's? Im curious how much trimming you had to do.. As my 5.25's just fit, and 5x7/6x8 is the size the opening it cut for so... 6x9 ??

Both are good products, but the best thing you can do is try to find a shop or person that has them so you can listen yourself. Everyone has different taste.

Im kind of a Diamond person so if it were me, Id go for those

Its all about who you talk to, i know some people think most MB tweets are fairly harsh and I've heard people be unhappy with Diamond Hexes (high end line), so I would agree with Bartak and listen to them if you can.

Maxxonics just purchased MBQuart from Rockford. They haven't been the true MBQuart for some time. Now it's only going to get worse. Anyone who is familiar with the junk they produce under the once proud names of Hifonics, Crunch, and Autotek knows what I mean. Sad thing is that they will make stacks and stacks of cash off people who know no better.

I have two sets of MB Quart PCE 216's sitting in my closet right now, just bought my F150 yesterday and can't wait to put them in =). I haven't finished deciding which amp I'm going to use, but I'm seriously thinking about a Phoenix Gold Octane R 9.0:5, and a 10in PG Octane ZR sub in a Q Logic box. I don't know that I need PCE 216's for the back doors, but it can't hurt, and I have them already anyway. I'd like to see pix of how the 6.5 speakers went into your doors too, thats actually what I was looking for today. Did you have to make adapters with some plywood or somthing, or just screw them directly into the door? Did you use any Dynamat or Peel'N'Seal (my personal favorite, costs about 1/5 as much, performs almost as well)?

I bet it does. Just keep in mind that without a sub you will never be able to produce lower frequencies properly, which will just put more strain on your door speakers. Even a simple 8" sub will give you a much more full sound, with a wider range of frequencies. I can't stand having music without a sub anymore, it just sounds so .. empty.
