Only .7 Cubic Feet of Air Space

If I wanted to used this Box:

http://caraudiofactory.com/ford-f150...40df6ce6f7bf33

I would only have 0.7 Cu. Ft. of air space. Problem is i can't find a decent subwoofer that doesn't need more than that. So my question to you audio guys is

1st of all do any of you know of a sub that can operate well with that little airspace?

And 2nd of all is this box even worth my time? I had a Bronco previousy so space for a sub was not an issue. I am not used to dealing with such little room and I am wondering if putting a sub in this box is even worth my time. (i.e. is it going to sound pathetic?)

Just for the record I don't roll around listening to rap ridiculously loud, I just want a much fuller sound...unless we've been drinking, then we all like it loud...

I would go with a IDQ10, but I wouldn't use that box. I'm not a big fan of ported boxes. I enjoy a more SQ/SQL system and a sealed box best suits my needs. Check out supercrewsound.com, Mark is a good guy and makes solid boxes. He customed me a box that I'm currently using. Although, I'm building a box now for 2 10W7s.

The IDQ is one of the best small enclousre subs out there. If you wanted to step up a bit, Look at TREO SSI subs, but they might be a bit more than what you are looking for.

I am having a hard time deciding on what setup to go with. I have a decent amp (RF Punch 700s) that has been a good standby. I had 2 RF HX2 12" in my Thunderchicken, but obviously I cannot use those in the truck I have now (mounting depth is too great.) I have looked at the probox with one 10" or some of the other prefab boxes, such as supercrewsound.com. I don't want to mount the amp behind the rear seat, but will if I am forced to. What suggestions do you have? I have not heard of either Treo or ID, but going by what I read on here, both seem to be decent subs. Thanks...

It all depends on what you are looking for. Do you want 2 10" subs or just one? Do you want to lift your rear seat or not? Do you want loud or just some bass to blend well with you other speakers? What other components do you have? What's powering them?

I currently have a custom box w/ 2 Treo SSi 10.22 subs. The Treos are rated at 750 RMS and can handle way more than that. 12" subs will fit if you are crafty and build your own box, but more than likely will need a seat lift to get decent 12's under there.

I will say it over and over again...the IDQ10 is one of the best small enclosure subs out there. 9 out of 10 dentist would say them same. LOL

About mounting the amps behind the seat...I think it's the BEST place in a '04-'06. It keeps them out of the way...stealthy. And, I guarantee that a freakin' thief WILL NOT be able to get them. Have you tried taking the seat back off yet?

My favorite sub is a W7, I'm building a box (slower than I like) for 2 10W7s. You can see the thread in this forum w/ pics.

I'm sorry, but I haven't used RF in quite some time and can't really comment on them. Also, STAY AWAY FROM THAT PROBOX!!! The one I saw fires up and leaves no room for excursion. You don't want your sub slapping on the bottom of your seat. They might be well built and have a nice finish (except for their logo). Some members swear by them, but I just don't like nor would I ever use one. Build your own box and put Herculiner or Duplicolor's urethane finish on it. I'm thinking about doing that with my new box instead of carpet.

The IDQ 10 is a great choice, but if I were going to be using a box that small I would send slightly more power than just the rms to the driver. This will somewhat compensate for the small enclosure, and shouldn't harm the driver.

Great advice, I always like some head room with my amps. He should be fine with that small of a box if he goes with a sealed enclosure. The IDQ only needs .60 ft^3 for a "large" sealed enclosure and as small as .30 ft^3 for a "small" sealed enclosure according to ID's specs.

if you want to retain use of your back seats you gonna have to go sealed. not only will that give you better options for different drivers. it'll also make installation a whol lot eaiser. remember sealed boxes are pretty forgiving. you could be off by nearly 50% and get away with it. where a ported box has to be designed specificly for the driver being used. you said that you just want something to round out the bottom end. if your not looking to win any SPL comps stay away from ported. ported boxes while not very dificult to design. usually are going to take up 2x the space a sealed box would for any given driver. and honestly th extra 3 db peak isn't worth the hassle. hell you could make up that 3 dbs easily elsewhere anyway. not only that. sq out of a sealed box is always easy to get. unlike ported where you really gotta play with box modeling and responce graphs (group delay sucks). the only problem I see with most of the under seat setups is the lack of low end extension. mainly because your limited on cone area. with under the seat instals you going to be looking for a few things. one is cone area. cram as much of it as you can. 2 8's are better than 1. 1 10 is better than 2 8's and 2 10's are better than 1 10 (yes I know there are a lot of factors that play in to this but lets try to keep it simple) the next thing is because you cant cram an 18 inch sub worth of cone area under your seat your gonna have to make up for it elsewhere. most people will look for more excursion. but in reality your gonna want a low FS paired with a high 1w/1m rating. there are alot of perameters that take into play when building a setup. and sadly the most people look at are peak power, znom, and maybe xmax and rms.

Polk Momo 10 only requires .66, and is really a nice all around sub.

So where can I find a sealed box for not too expensive? I am on a budget here guys. If I wasn't the JL Stealthbox would already be under my back seat.

I don't want 2 10's because

A) I have no need for that much bass to behonest. It's a small cab.
B) I don't want to have to move my Jack.

I think you got your company wrong, well, I know you atleast got your URL wrong. I looked them up on Google and found 12vp.com and while they do make a few car accessories, I do not see any semblance of enclosures on their site.
