can't decide

I have finally decided on the components i am going to go with. I have decided to go with the polk momo's, they seemed like the best choice for me and got nothing but praise from all of the reviews i have read about them. The only problem is that i cant decide if i should go with the round or oval shape. The oval is a 5x7 and will just slip right in and is the cheaper of the two, the round is a 5.25 and i would have to buy a mounting bracket which im ok with and is the more expensive of the two. I'm just looking for a little direction. Is there any sound difference between an oval and round speaker?
Which do you think im better off with?

If you want stock sound, yeah, go with the 5x7's. If you want just SLIGHTLY better, go with the MOMO components.

Well, I would go with the components every time. Like MC said, his MB's scream. You get what you pay for and then the install comes into play. Install is 90% of the picture. How you aim the drivers, where you place them, how your crossovers are set. It's all an art. Go with the component set and drop the 5.25's in a box. Have fun!

I'm not familiar with Polk since the '80s. If they have a 6.5 I would go with that. Install is very important...do proper sound deadening on your doors i.e. some type of mat, seal up any big holes, etc. The stock tweeter placement is not that bad, a bit off axis but sounds good. You know what I'm running, the Focal Utopias, I have them in the stock placement and I have no major complaints.

I'm not a fan of a 5x7 speaker.

Dude go with the 6.5 MOMO components. I got mine for 180 on millionbuy and they may still be there. Crutchfield has them but kinda pricey. The 6.5 fit snug and they sound really great. I got an alpine 2 channel running them and dont even have it turned up half way and it's LOUD. Cant go wrong with components. I had pioneer 2 ways before I got the infinity components and the components just sound twice as good. Then i got the Polk's and they are even better.

not a kit but an adapter for each side. They are the adapters that are for 5x7 to 6.5. They can found at many audio websites under adapters. I would look on ebay. I found mine for 9 bucks including shipping.

here's some but you may have to drill a couple of your own holes. I did have to but nothing too difficult. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/5x7-6...spagenameZWDVW

You could also go to google and type in 5x7 speaker adapter and plenty should pop up. Like the other guy said they fit snug but they sound awesome.
