No, this wasn't my first time, I've built boxes for friends and I'm always the one who they come to install their stuff and fix their cars. It pays well though, and I enjoy doing it...

 

looks pretty good, on some weekend when you are trying to think of what to do, you should spray paint the c brackets black then it would be very hard to notice. Can you take a pic that shows from floor to window please? im just curious what it looks like.
