Red face Polk db650 speakers...

Anyone here have these 6.5" installed? I bought the adapter plates so i can install 5.25 or 6.5 speakers in the doors of my 02 F150, and i have pretty much decided i want these. Just want to make sure they aren't to deep to fit in the door, and see if anyone had installed them and waht they sound like.

Thanks

I actually installed the Polk MM6500's. They are a step up from the db series. I was actually going to get the db's until i saw that millionbuy had a big sale on the mm's. They sound very great. I also heard that the db's sound great also. Circuit city carries polk line so you could shoot over to one and take a listen. Either way you go you cant go wrong with polk

Where did you pick up the adapter plates at? I've only seen the 5.5" ones.
Thanks
Dave

bmx150, or anyone else who might know.. Did you need to use any adapters to connect the new speakers to the existing wiring harness? I got my adapter plates yesterday and found the speakers on sale last night, so i am going to pick them up tonight on the way home. Just want to make sure i don't find i need adapter plugs after i have the door assembly apart and strewn everywhere. Thanks..

BTW, the volume control on my JVC crapped out last night as well, so now when you touch it, the volume blasts way up, instead of just nice even 1 digit increments.. looks like i need an Alpine replacement! Dang the bad luck...

You dont have to use the stock speaker harness. It's just convenient if you do but it's just a positive and negative. Most of the good speakers include connector clips for easy install. They are not the clips that connect to the stock harness. They are the clips for the crossover clips and etc. Hope this helps

Yea, i got the speakers installed. These are the easiest door panels i have ever removed. 5 minutes and they were off. I would up going with a pair of Infinities.. they had better highs in my opinion. Had to make a trip to Best Buy to get a wiring harness after the slackjaw at Circuit City sold me three of the wrong ones, but plug and play after that. Very happy with the fit...
