Audiophile upgrade advice
Audiophile upgrade advice
I need help and advice. I just ordered an Audiophile HU to upgrade my 05 XL 4 x 4 regular cab. Can I use something like a Bazooka BT6014 sub? If so, what would be an appropriate amp to use? Other than making up a harness, and getting components for the front doors, what else will I need. I am a complete audio idiot, so please be gentle in any offered explanations.
I will greatly appreiciate any help. I have seached and read most the Audiophile related posts, but am lost trying to interpret the content.

I would not reccommend bazooka.. that is bottom shelf equipment. No offense to anyone who owns it.
If you're looking to keep the cost low the new Alpine Type R is one of the best subs out for the price. Even the Type S isn't too bad.
If you're wiring this all up to a factory headunit then you'll need a lineout converter to take signal from the rear speakers and convert it to an RCA cable hook up to connect to your amp.
I highly doubt this head unit will have a set of RCA's on the back of it, but I could be wrong.
As for components I would suggest Anything Infinity, The Kappa Perfects sound very nice, but I'll warn you.. the tweets are a little harsh.
3 ways are also a good choice but you won't get the kind of low end response from those like you would a component set.
