My Used Infinity Kappas Arrived...
Bought a pair of Infinity Kappas 60.5cs off of Ebay...and each dome has two spots that are pushed in! Needless to say I'm not happy about what I bid on and with what I received. Anyways it's my fault for not being thorough and asking for more info. Thinking I may try them just to hear 'em. Anybody have any experience with speakers with a pushed in dome? I expect them to sound like *****. I'll try to post some pics, but I keep getting an "unsual error has occurred" message when I go to edit my gallery. I appreciate any help on this.
I really do want to return them....so I think I'll contact the seller first and go from there. Honestly, they do not look like the ones pictured in the photo and the item description never mentioned any wear and tear near the level of what I see.
If the domes are just pushed in, it is only cosmetic and should not affect the sound of the speakers.
If they sound okay but it just bugs you, take a piece of masking tape and lightly lay it across the dome. Then, GENTLY pull the tape up and off, and it will pop the dome back up.
Used to have customers try to return speakers because they had pushed the dome in and thought it was the end of the world. I'd take the tape to them, hand them the same speaker back, and tell them to be more careful next time.

Hey beer,
be careful that the seller doesn't say the shipper is at fault. I would be hard to prove/disprove, and if you didn't pay for insurance, or didn't ask for it....you might have to eat that schitt! My $.02.

Thank you all for the help. I'm gonna try the tape trick to get the dents out. As long as the sound quality isn't compromised, I'll be happy in the end. I did get insurance on them, so at the very worst I'll go that route. I really learned a lesson on this buy! Anybody have a suggestion for an amp to drive these babies? Once again, thanks!

Let us know if the tape trick did the job for you. And you might want to install them first before using the tape.... take a listen, then pop it out with the tape and listen.. just to satisy the morbid curiousity of how much it really effects the sound.
As for amps... I'm a big advocate of the US Acoustics brand. Great bang for the buck. I run a 2150 for my Focal 165K2 Polykevlar component set in my '01 SCab front doors.
Good luck!
