Any one running a ported system?

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what i am going to do for my next system and I am wondering if anyone has done a ported box. A local custom shop said they will do a 10w7 sealed but I didnt get a chance to talk about having it ported instead. Is it possible or is there just not enough room for 1 ported 10w7. TIA

i don't have the t/s parameters for that driver in front of me, but if it is suitable for a ported enclosure,i would think it would fit.

for my truck i built a 1.4 net cu. ft. ported box behind my seat that has a recessed amp rack on the passenger side. i lost no leg room at all.

depending on what resonant freq you would want. a box should be around 1.5 cubic feet for a ported. 1.0-1.25 for a sealed box. make sure that you have .75" behind the magnet and the rear wall of the enclosure.

If your going for SPL I would go with a ported, if you want SQ, tight clean bass, I would recommend a sealed box. I change many a peoples mind between the ported to sealed when they hear the difference and how tight and hard the bass hits in a sealed to ported system. to many people like "boomy" bass. I don't, I like it as accurate as I can afford
