Looking for better sound from my 04 Screw. Want to keep my HU for now and replace speakers with something that will work with current HU and a new one with 25W RMS power. Tnx

Try to find you some drop in 5 x 7 speakers or some 5 1/4's and adapters. With that little amount of power, look for some with pretty high sensitivity. Maybe like Infinity or Polk. Will get decent volume and good sound.

Ok then how about replacing speakers and HU for under $400 then, possibly add an amp? I listen to all different kinds of music, and big bass is not needed.

I would go to www.crutchfield.com. Go to the what will fit section and you can scroll thru all the options. You will probably not be able to do it for $400. At least not with an amp. But, you could get some idea and then try ebay for better prices. If you are adding an amp, you can also consider components but, they cost more. For $400, you could probably get a head unit that will play MP3 and replace all the door speakers. If you use ebay, you could maybe add the amp and get close to $400.

I got my polks for $60 bucks for a pair (off ebay)... and they sound great... even before I installed the amp that powers them... great highs, mids, and mid lows...

and they fit in the standard ford speaker molds
