Question Bandpass

I have this Pioneer and have it in a cheap sealed box. It just doesn't put out the kinda sound I'm looking for. I'm thinking of going with a ported or bandpass enclosure. I'd really like to try bandpass and have my eye on this box. Would this be a good box? Pioneer recommends about 1.65 cu.ft. of space in bandpass and this box only has 1.2.

Thanks for the help!

You can do it, youll get more output, it will work ok. But personally its nothing I would do. With a bandpass box you usually dont want to buy any ol box and throw a sub in there. Sure, it will get you more output, but forget about decent SQ. If you want a BP box best thing to do is make one. But make sure you know what your doing and get stuff dead nuts on, or you could end up killing your sub. BP boxes arent very forgiving.

Make a big ported box based on the sub specs tuned to mid or low 30s and you will get decent output with a slot port. Any how, all of the pre-fab BP boxes i have seen are pretty big so how would you fit it in a truck?

I have an '02 SCrew. I usually leave the single passenger-side rear seat folded down so that gives a good bit of room.

So ya'll think I'd be better getting a ported box instead?

For one 10/12 or a few 8s a ported box will give you more ouput which i think is what you are looking for. If you went bandpass it would sound signifigantly worse, more than likely.
