Idea for screw subbox

I have an idea but lack the technical knowledge to know if it would work. Any help from car audio gurus would be great. In order to gain floor space in my 05 screw I was thinking a custom enclosure replacing the fold dawn arm rest in the back seat would be great. If you could put in one 8 or 10" sub of high quality and install a good amp I would think it would provide very solid bass in such a space. Any ideas?

I think depth would be an issue. Unless you want it to stick out and take up the center seat position, I am just not sure if there is enough depth for one. Maybe one of the new Earthquake subs that is like 3 inches thick. I love the idea though. How good of a back massage would that be if you could pull it off.

Is it going to be firing forward(like out of the seat), Im assuming anyway. Sounds like a cool idea to me. Have any measurments of how big the box could be?

Like Dconder says, I dont really see there being enough mounting depth or airspace for a sub there though.

Unless you feel like cutting the back of that part out to get more airspace and depth
It'd be one big hole, but Im sure if you ever wanted to put it back to stock you could make some cover up for it.
