Adding speaker box to stock system

I'm adding a cheapo speaker box to the stock system, should I wire them in series or parallel??
From what I have read it looks like they will be louder if they are in parallel but I'm concerned that might draw to much current and damage the radio.

Thanks in advance for any responce.

We need more info. When you say speaker box, do you mean a subwoofer, or like regualr speakers?

I take it your powering them with the radio, and not an amp?
For wiring, depends how many ohm the speakers your adding are, if you know.
If you have 2, are you wiring one to say each rear channel, or all of them to one channel?
