91 F150 Reg Cab and 4 10"???
I got a 91 ford f150 regular cab and would like to install 4 sony explod 10" subs behind the seat and i have a couple questions:
1. Will i need another battery or just upgrade alternator?
2. Would making the box so that the back cab wall is the back of sub box affect anything(i would use plenty of dynamat)
3. Or should i not go through the hassle and just get 2 12" or 4 8"

Id go with fiberglass. And tape off the back wall and lay down a few layers of glass. Put some baffles for the 4 subs, make sure there is cleareance. Don't do 4 xplods. just don't. there are much better subs for the price to be doing a project like this with. Hell go buy some cheap MTX's or something.
I agree, screw the Xplodes. But if you have them already, might as well use them.
Do you know how many amp your alternator is (my guess is 95 amps) ?
It really depends on how big of an amp you use, but I would say you could just use what you already have as far as your electrical system, but you wont know till you get every thing installed.
As for the box, no, dont use the back of the cab wall as the back of the box.
3. Depends what you want.

ok, take my advice for what you may. do not use the back wall. if you already have the xplods, use them. if not, go with some bottom line rockfords or something that have a SHALLOW mounting space. trust me on this. i had a 92 f150 with at first 4 10's and then switched to 2 power he2 10's. i had a custom built ported box for the 2 tens and i drove with my knees on the steering wheel for 2 years. if you want a great amp that DOESN'T pull alot of amperage, on the 4 10's i had i was running an OLD SCHOOL punch 250a. handled them VERY nicely. i had to drop down for a month to a punch 100 (keep in mind OLD SCHOOL) and it was ALMOST just as good. but remember, if this is going to be a daily driver, DO NOT buy a speaker that is going to leave with you with your knees on the dash...
Ya for 4 10s set up, for a budget system i would look at RE line of subs for SQ based and Kicker CVRs for SPL based. But i would say two middle class SPL based 12s could displace as much air as 4 lower line 10s, if the 12s were ported and tens were sealed, but with space requirements it might be easier to go with more cone then more box. But make sure you meet the power requirements of the sub, or else it is pointless to do a system like yours. But remember you could also do four 8s ported, and that might be the easiest set up as far as mounting the subs, and you could just use a round port and slide PVC ports in there.
Im starting to lean to 4 8" rockford fosgate punch stage 1 subs being the way to go for ease of box design and use of space or should i look at another brand of 8" sub...as far as getting an amp for these subs what would you suggest 4 channel 2 channel?

Go with a class d mono amp or a bridged 2-channel amp. http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCP18S4 click on subwoofer wiring options near the bottom to learn how to wire subs together onto 1 channel. Ya the RE RE line is about 50 bucks for each 8, www.reaudio.com , the price isnt listed, but you can call them if you like. Thats propablly the best price youll find for a decent 8, outside of ebay.
alright. sweet thanks for the links! one more thing does anyone know what the plaque on my dashboard stands for on the passenger side theres a plaque that says custom..what does that mean? i know on cars theres like LT LX SE and stuff like that.
