Of those, I think the Diamond Hex are a cut above the others. I have Hex S600s in my Honda Pilot and love them. One thing about the Hex, they like alot of power. I have around 175 watts going to each channel of mine. I went from 75 watts to 175 and the midbass difference was huge. That is about the only downside to them is they are power hungry. But, they sound awesome. One of the best sets you can get, in my opinion. The D6 replaced the M6, which I had a set of. For the price, they were great so, I am sure the D6 is just as good. I have not heard JL comps so, I really can not tell you alot about them.

The Diamond hexes are pretty popular, and for a good reason, but i would look at CDT comps and also if you want to take a chance look into PG Elites, they have a Morel mid that is used on 700 dollar morel speakers, but i dont know how the PG tweets and crossovers are. But if you want a sure thing, go with the Hexes.

do not get the JLs

Don't get the JL speakers...........they $uck..........if you do not believe me, go to a local car audio shop and hear them yourself..........then look for a Boston and hear those.......the Boston will blow them JLs away.........
I made that mistake.............get the JL amps since their amps are very good and the woofers from JL are good too............Just their XR, TR, VR are not very good for the $$$ you paid for them............

The JL 300/2 would be a great amp for the Diamond Hex. 150 watts per side would really make the mids shine. Can't go wrong there.

Jl amps are nice. But where did you get your rainbow comps at, i can only find them for online UK stores i cant find any here. Ebay only has them once every couple of months. Hows the midbass on that set, in the q-logic kicks?

I bought them from someone on elitecaraudio forum. He has a contact that can get Rainbow stuff. The Contour series has been discountinued and I got them for cheap, brand new. I have the 5 1/4" set and have only had them installed for 2 days so, I am still tweaking. My first impressions with 80 watts or so from my Arc amp is really good. I am hearing alot of detail that I had not heard before in the music. The qlogic's do a great job of imaging and putting everything right up front.
