Warning: Pickupspecialties.com S-crew Sub Box
Howdy! I'm in the process of transfering my stereo equipment from the Mustang GT I traded in on my truck. Obviously, I needed a box designed for my truck, so I bought one from pickupspecialties.com out of Houston, TX. I ordered a box for a single 10" sub.
It arrived today, early, which was nice. The over all finish and craftsman ship is decent. Definitely better than I could have done my self. Anyway, there is only one problem. A 10" subwoofer definitely DOES NOT FIT. The cutout measures 9 1/4" in diameter, clearly designed for an 8" subwoofer. I borrowed one from my dad to check that it fit, and it sure did.
Anyway, just a warning. After I spoke to one of their sales reps before I ordered it, I immediately knew that the person whom I spoke with had little knowledge of the box. I'm not saying that they're a bad company, I'm just sharing my experience. I'm going to call them tomorrow and let them know that their advertisement is not correct.

Really? I have a diamond 10" sub that I tried to put in, and the basket was so big that it wouldn't fit. I tried another 10" (Orion) that my dad had in his truck, and it didn't fit either. Then I tried one of the 8" (Visonik) subs that he currently has in his truck, and it fit perfect. I have an Infinity Reference 1040w 10" sub on the way from Crutchfield, should be here either today or tomorrow... it would be really awesome if it fit, but I'm doubting it.
I hate to contradict you but, the biggest diameter of an 8" sub is 8". Maybe just a bit more. The biggest diameter of a 10" sub is 10". If the hole in the box is 9 1/4" then, an 8" sub is going to just fall in it. Otherwise, it is not an 8" sub. Please do not think I am trying to insult you or anything, it just does not add up. When you say you have a 10" sub, is that the outside diameter of the frame or just the diameter of the rubber cone? Speakers are measured to the outside of the frame. A 10" sub will only have maybe an 8" cone or smaller.
I have had two different Diamond subs, an M6 and a TDX and both of the subs would fit a 9 1/4" cutout.
Again, please do not take any offense, I am just trying to get to the bottom of your problem.
Let us know.

Okay, I just got my 10" Infinity Reference sub in today from Crutchfield. Let me first say: it's basass.
Now, let me correct myself, and retract my previous statements: it fits, and perfectly! I though my dad's subs were 8" when they were in fact 10", I just assumed they were 8"s because they look a little small. Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase, and dconder, thanks for correcting me!
Now my system is complete:
Alpine HU
Polk EX357 2-ways 60W for front
Infinity 593I 3 ways for back
Phoenix Gold XS6600 amp
Infinity Reference 10" 250W subwoofer
pickupspecialties.com sub box
I can't freaking wait to put it in this weekend!
BTW... any tips on getting the back seat of the S-crew out?
