Securing Subwoofer to Floor
Securing Subwoofer to Floor
Easy question - anyone drilled holes in their floor to secure anything, and if so, have you experienced problems with this?
I ask because I have a QLogic box w/a 10" sub inside of it, and I'm fixing to have the subwoofer/amp installed tomorrow. I don't want the sub box sliding around all over the place, but I don't know if the preexisting holes that serve to hold down the behind-the-seat tray will suffice.

Yes, and Ive never had any problems. Just put some silicone or something like it on the underside of the floor (outside) and inside if you can-to seal it so water, dust, etc doesnt get in.
I would say the way they have to mount it would work though. I wouldnt THINK they would make a way to fasten it that didnt work-and Ive never heard of any problems with the mounting.

Actually, I figured it out.
There are four preexisting holes in the floor of the RC F150 as it is that are used to secure a Ford tray. When I put the subwoofer box behind my seats, one of those holes happens to be RIGHT in front of where the box is. So, all I really need to do is get a small piece of wood or plastic or something, and secure it to the floor using a bolt. That'll hold the box in place.
