Sub Box Question
Sub Box Question
Hey all. I just joined the forum after purchasing a 2005 SuperCrew Lariat. I always put my own systems in my vehicles and have started on this one. I put the Kenwood DDX7015 in the dash for now. My next step is the bass. I have either a Memphis Belle or Arc Audio 5 channel amp that I am going to install behind the rear seat. My question is, has anyone seen a sub box that will hold two 10's that fits under the 60 seat of the 60/40 rear? I really do not want to relocate that jack to fit the dual box. If I have to do that, where are you all putting your jack and bracket if you move it? Thanks for any help.
Try this company, http://www.musicmoose.net/ . They have a dual downfiring box for 8s/10s but it has two terminals and im not sure if it is one or two chambers. Since its a five channel im assuming you would wire the two tens together on the 5 channel and would just use one terminal. O well, hope thats what you were looking for. Also try www.supercrewsound.com , www.subbox.net , and www.proboxrocks.com , and try the ebay stores/search.
Thanks for the links. I did not know about some of those. I have my choices narrowed down pretty good. I am either going with a MTX Thunderform, the new one has a single 12" in it and still hides under the rear seat, a Q-logic Q-customs, or a musicmoose box in tan for a single 10". I am also waiting to here the price on the proboxrocks.
I have pretty much ruled out a box that will fit only under the driver's side seat. There is just not enough room to get air space. The amplified Thunderform might be an option and then get a 2 channel amp that will fit under a seat to run components up front.

I would go with www.supercrewsound.com they offer factory carpeting and for an extra $20 you can add 5/8" to the depth of the speaker box. They also have the option of 1-8" 2-8'', 1-10" or 2-10"
Thanks for the reply. I actually ordered the box from musicmoose this morning. Will hold a single 10" with tan carpeting. I have my list of subs narrowed down to 2 or 3. Just trying to find them.
Adire Audio Koda 10D4

Recently i saw 2 or 3 kodas on ebay that went for around 100 used, so check there. Also check out www.aespeakers.com ( i think thats right ) look at the slimeline 10, there wont be any issues with depth and you would still have a nice speaker.
I missed out on a couple of Koda's. I did not have my truck at the time and did not think I could really use them. Now, I am kicking myself. I have a chance to buy the Arc sub directly from the factory for $199 shipped. That is my number one choice right now.

The max depth is 5.5" with around .7 cubic feet of air space. The subs I am looking at are geared toward SQ. I am not into big time bass. Just good clean tight bass. I have heard really good things about the Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 and they only run around $115 shipped. So I am still looking at 2 or 3 subs before I buy.
