I have a 2002 F150 Supercab...

as of right now I have a nice sub box with a MTX 4000 12" woofer... and it I have the rear seats up and the sub facing the center console...

does anyone know what the best sub 'placement' for our f150s?

 

If your box is movable, just see what you come up with. Forward, backward, up, down, left, right, anwhere inbetween and see what works best for ya.

Right now, my 12's are downfiring and that seems to be loudest for me- I just tried forward, up, back, and down-I THINK I can hear a difference in loudness, with them firing down being the loudest.

 

Well... I need to modify my sub in order for it to become a downfiring sub... but I am getting a 10" L7 in the mail in about a week... so I will then do it more seriously then...

but can truck boxes fit under the rear seats of a supercab?

 

i have my 12"s each in a single box facing back to the seats. i have tried forward. but back works loudest for me

 

I would say downfiring or firing towards the back wall would be the loudest. I guess the subs get slightly muffled by the seats, or what not.

 

i've heard downfiring is actually the loudest in a supercab truck... not sure about other styles...

but at all those competitions... for decibels and SQ... they usually have the sub in either a downfiring or facing rear config...

I'm gonna try putting my L7 downfiring next... I will tell my results

 

Depends on what space you are willing to do without as well. I removed the 40 portion of the rear seat in my 02 scab. I put my xxx 12 downfiring in that space. Fits good, sounds good, and gets decently loud for a sealed box. Next project will be ported box to fit there.

 

just made my box downfire... under the rear passenger seat... sounds NICE right now...

just need to get my amp...
