Anyone running ported?

I was wondering the best direction/place for the port to fire out of my box? Also it will be a slot port not pvc porting. Any prefernce on a long port running down the length of the back of the box, or a staggered port on the end of the box?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

The same plane that the sub is mounted on is supposed to be the best for port placement, but the sides will work. Dont mount it on the opposite side that the sub is mounted. Also, If your sub is downfiring (which I think I remember you saying you were doing) I would shoot the port out the plane either facing the front of the truck, or side of truck.

As for the one long port, or stagered one-it really makes no difference.
On a long straight port, I could see how there may be less turbulance and such, allowing the air to get through a little better, but I HIGHLY doubt youll notice a diference. Maybe If you were competing, where 1/10's of a decible can make a difference, but just for daily use, doenst matter.

Alright, i guess ill just go with a long port exiting the front of the box. Heres the site i plan to use http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31. Now i just need to find the driver displacement, and buy all of the stuff.
