So i get my sub on saturday and open it when i get home sunday night and lay it on my bed, and today i notice that there are two chunks missing out of the magnet, neither of them too big but enough to visibly see. My question is, will this effect the sound? Should i send it back, get it repaired or what?

Its an avalanche 12 if it matters.

 

Do you have any pics of it. It shouldnt be that big of a deal, but I would just call Chad and see what he has to say about it.

 

I talked to chad and he said there was extra magnet added on just for comfort and nicks wouldnt really be noticeable at all. Now the only concern i have is mounting that 40 lb beast upside down. I guess ill have to use two sheets of mdf for the bottom face and longer screws plus enough bracing on the bottom face. Also does anyone know if you have to place the terminal a certain distance from the sub on the box or does it matter?
