Newbie to Audio, but would like to add some subs
I have a 95 Reg cab and I would like to add some subs and an Amp to it. I already have a niec kenwood deck in it, but would like to add some bass now. I have been reading and I know its hard to get something good while on a budget, but I dont need a super stellar system. Just something that will add a good a mount of bass to the no bass stock system. Would like to spend $400, not much more. I can find a dual 10" sub box for my truck for $69.95 from summit racing. What else would I need besides subs, an amp, and wiring? I think thats all i need. But now, what are some good quality subs to could look at and an amp to power them with. I dont want the subs to be underpowered. so if you could match some subs to an amp for me that would be great. I buy off ebay all the time, so im not afraid to buy subs or anything off of there, but i dont really know what a good quality sub or amp are. So I would like to get the best for my money. Thank you.
Assuming that your head unit has RCA outs, that is about all you need. The important part of buying your subs is matching them to your box! more than the amp. Some subs work in free air, others in sealed box, others in bandpass box. Find out what your box is and research the subs to find ones that match. You can buy a reasonable amp with decent RMS power that will give you good sound, 2 real good subs, and spend way less than $400.
Unless you are going into competition, you can forget all that overpriced stuff you see advertised. Just use the largest wire size you can, and you will be fine.
Take a look here at Millionbuy. They are super fast, and great quality. I have bought from them a lot. Speakers, subs, amps. Rock On!

How many cubic feet is that box? If you can find it. If you cant find the volume, Id look for another box that either says how many cu ft. it is, or, if your good with hand tools make on yourself for half the price. Even the best sub in the word is gonna sound like ***** if its not in a proper box.
You can get good stuff on a budget, you just hafta shop around and know what to look for, having good luck is also nice
. I got my subs, sub amp, and comp speakers all for under 550 bucks and its very nice quality stuff.
