Crossovers
For Darkstone05
When mounting the crossovers y'all mentioned using double sided tape. I have some industrial strength velcro, will this work just as well?? Also, could you go a little more in depth about how you wrapped the crossovers in cloth?? thank you.
I am doing the install tomorrow, I got the speaker adapters yesterday and the components arrive tomorrow.
Thanks again
Rick

As for the wrapping the crossover in cloth or something, that makes is difficult to put tape on the back of the unit, so I didn't use any. Mine is just taped in. I made sure that when I stuck it to the door the only part of the crossover that touched anything was the bottom, which was double-sided taped anyway, so there was nothing that was able to touch the crossover and make a rattle sound. Sometimes the tape will come off after time, but that's never happened to me (20 years now). The only thing that I've had rattle in the doors was the wiring coming off the crossover to the speakers. You can always wrap that in something if it should happen, but most people don't have that problem unless they put a 8" sub in the door. You should be fine.

HERE IS A PIC OF MY INSTALL THEY ARE KICKER 5.25
Went ahead with Rear Speakers
Went ahead and changed out the back door speakers from the audiophile system with some Polk 5x7's
As my systems stands I have the Following:
Front: Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's (6 1/2'')
Back: Polk DB 5x7's
Sub: Audiophile box
HU: Audiophile 6CD
I know I could add an amp but don't know if I should. The Perfect 6.1's are rated a 100W rms and 400w peak power. It is really loud as it is. Would I gain much more??
