Is it possible to cram a 7" Dynaudio speaker in my reg cab doors?

I have an 02' Reg cab and I need to replace my 5.25s with the 240mkII system from Dynaudio. According to my calculations the speaker will be 6.889inches in diameter.

Is it possible to mount this in a 5x7 hole with minimal mods...?

... and have the sound clear the oddly shapped door panel?

Additionally, are the door panels in the XL F150s the same as all the rest?

i dropped cdt 6.5 components in my 2002 reg cab. i penciled the line i needed to cut to make it fit and then cut it with a dremel. i then lined the door with dynamat and made sure i sealed off the openings above the speaker as well. they sounds great and i would def do it again.

Yeah, those 7's should fit just as easy as a pair of 6.5's, just cut a tiddy bit more metal.

All you will have to do is cut a small about of metal from the stock speaker hole. I just made 2 slits (top and bottom) then bent the metal back.

Good luck

Am I going to have to put the tweeters in the pod by the a pillar or is there a way to mount them next to the speaker in the door?

Does anyone think the 3way version of the Dynaudio set would be possible? tweet, 3in midrange and 8inch midbass.

You shouldnt need to cut any metal. Just use a 1/2" wood spacer/adapter.

Maybe its different from year to year I guess, but the thickest stuff I could use was 3/16, otherwise the surround on my mids would hit the door. Are you using a 1/2 inch space Deus?

Brian, you could put the 8's in the doors, and the 3 in mid and tweet in some kick panels.
