Kicker DS68s installed...

Well,
I installed the front speakers a few days ago and had to wait for the rears to come in. They are installed and it sounds awesome! I'm driving them with a Pioneer DEH-P8MP set to the 60 watt mode. What a difference over the stock radio. I used the crutchfield harness adapters. took me about 45 minutes because i was fiddle-farting around. And it was hot as a biscuit.

I haven't played a wide array of music on them yet but what I have heard sounded great. Anyways, let me know if you have any questions.

Nice! Thats the same setup I want to get. I have my DEH-P8MP currently being shipped to me, cant wait to get it. Stumped on whether I should get my subs/amp purchased first, or if I should replace the stock speakers with components first.

Hey Durew, go with the amp/sub(s) combo first. When you get your Pioneer P8MP it will make your stock speakers sound alot better, because of the increase in CLEAN power. That way you'll have a complete system and you can later install components/amp for a full upgrade. Trust me, get the bass.

rockafella is right. go with the amp and subs. I already had the sub amp and some JL 8s so I just decided to buy some speakers. got an awesome deal on them through a local shop.

Is there a big difference between the DS series Kicker speakers and the KX series?

I was eyeballing some of those KX57.2 for my rear panels.

Any difference b/t the KX57.2 and the DS68 other than the size?

Thanks rockafella, much appreciated man

I havent looked at my manual yet.. but I've heard other people around here talk about an "audiophile" version of the f150? My truck has the 6-disc changer beside the back seat if thats what you mean lol

I might be emailing you sometime for more info, I love the look of your truck and what you've done with your sound system on the interior! Good job!

I was told that if I'm sticking without an amp on the highs then run a ds series speaker. They would sound better than a higher model with the head unit. if amplifying the full ranges then go with a higher series.
