Spare Tire Jack Relocation

Im installing a pair of subs on the back seat of my 05 screw and am going to have to move the jack and tools.

Has anyone had to do this? I was figuring on welding the bracket under the hood and mounting it there. Has anyone done anything different?

I put mine up above the spare tire between two frame crossmembers. Lower your spare and you'll see lots of room up there. I glued Dynamat T.A.C. mat were the jack contact the crossmembers so it wouldn't rattle and then tightened the jack so it was secure. Then as a safety precaution I used the extra large zip ties to secure it....gave me room to build a storage box underneath the passenger side reat seat (I have the audiophile with the sub under the other rear seat) and it has been working great....

good luck!!

Installed mine under the hood.

Facing your truck, look down to the right front. You will see a hole (open area). It's the only place under the hood this will work.
Take your jack with the bracket it came with and place it down that hole at an angle with the bracket holes facing the front of the truck. You will see how the 2 mounting holes on the bracket almost match up to the bracket that the radiator is on. You will have to bend the 2 areas were the holes are on the bracket to match the area you will drill your holes.
Make sure that the big wing nut on the jack is facing the left side (pass. side) of the truck for easy jack removal.
I unhooked that small hose from the reserve tank to get it out the way to work.
Hold the jack in place so it fits nice in that area and the holes line up on the radiator bracket. Mark your holes. You can drill them with a normal drill, but it was not easy. You will need to drill a small pilot hole first. If you can get your hands on an angled drill it would be easier.
Just drill your holes and mount the jack with 2 stainless steal bolts. **Make sure you have it low enough as to not hit your hood when you close it!!**
Don't forget to put that hose back. I don't think this will work if you have 4 wheel drive. No room in that area.

Look at pictures in my gallery below.

HEY DUPUIS, i like your box but i have a suggestion...you should add a curved triangle to contour with the hump in the middle. where the offset is.
and a question...why did you face the port forward? i would've faced it to the passenger side that way it isn't noticeable(more stealth) and would also get some air movement across the amp.

Yes, I know, didn't think about it until after I covered the box.
I put the port there for 2 reasons. 1, that's the only place that a 3'' dia., 26.5'' long port would fit. Between the 2 subs. I guess I could of pointed it to the back.
The other reason is I wanted the bass or air from port to shot right at me so I could also fell the bass more and not just hear it.

I have a 2003, not the 2004 or newer, but this is how I handled the jack and handle when I needed to relocate them since they were in the way of things:

I made a bracket that holds the neck of the jack level, and layed the lug nut wrench behind and around the passenger side of the amp. I know that Ford changed the style of jacks in 2004, but this might be something to consider if you can find room for it.

Jack relocation

I just had this same issue with my 04 Screw. Probox with a 10" sub and then amp had to sit in old jack location. Moved the jack to the back, in the toolbox.

Hey Dupuis, I noticed you went with the Infinity speakers I'm considering -- how do you like the front ones? I'm debating whether I can do with those or need the "Perfects"? Opinion?

I like the sound of them a lot. A little weak on the mid bass though, but enough for me.
