1998 F150 Ex Cab Subs
Would you suggest any type of wood? I have access to pretty much any kind at the shop. I'm kind of new to the trade, only been here a few months.. but if I could use a piece of 2x2 wood for the lift that would be awesome
I am guessing it would have to be extremely hard and durable, but I'm not sure what to use

I would think you would know more about that than I, since you work in a cabinet shop. With 5 brackets supporting the seat no single one of them is subject to any outrageous force, so I don't believe this has to be too complicated, as far as what wood to use. If that is a huge concern in your case, maybe use some kind of metal. I've seen the same type of set-up as mine with steel channel tubing instead of wood. Or, check this out.

Anyone know how 2 12" subs would fit in my truck? The custom box sites (supercrewsound, moose, soundoffaudio, etc) make boxes that can hold 2 x 8, 10, or 12's. I was thinking about just going with the 10's.. but would 12's fit just as good or would it be sticking out below the rear seat too much?
Out of about 8 seat lifts i fabbed up for 1997/1998 extended cabs, I have one left to sell. If you're interested drop me a line. It's a 4" steel lift painted black, so it'll give you some flexibility in your decision of what size of sub to use and I'll cut you a deal to save some $'s compared to any commercial manufacturer of the lifts.
The 301S Fosgate amp didn't match up very well with the impendence of the Kicker CompVR 10". The sub was a DVC 4 ohm and amp was 4 ohms. To be safe I had it wired in only one channel @ 150 watts and it pumped out good clean deep bass. I'm not into the hip-hop scene, so the sub will only play alternative rock mostly. You can tell that the sub definately could handle more power though. I'm returning the Kicker and exchanging for a DVC 2 ohm Alpine Type S.
In any essence, if you want, I can take digital pics of my custom box I had professionally made and even whip up some dimensions while I have the box out waiting for the new 10" alpine.

I think I'm just going to end up purchasing one of the boxes off the various sites (moose, soundoffaudio, supercrewsound, etc) and they all come with the 2" lift kits.
Although, if you have the dimensions for a 1998 F150 Ex Cab box, including the airspace and mounting depth (dual chamber, 2 10's) I would gladly have a look at them.
But more specifically, I was wondering how far infront of the seat would a 12" sub be compared to a 10? The mounting depths are the same, just wondering if it would stick out too far for comfort

With the amp I'll be using, 600w Kicker KX 2 ohm mono.. and running it to 2 kicker 10" DVC CompVR 2 ohm subs.. how much power will go to each sub if I wire it in a 2 ohm configuration?
Does it split it 300/300 or does it feed 600 to each sub? If it does feed 600 to each, will i have to adjust anything on the amp? Peak power on the subs is 600w, RMS 300w
