wat is a good amp to be pushing 2 10" jl audios.. i want them to be loud but not to loud??

 

uh what model jl's are they? their website jlaudio.com has the information for how much what each brand of their subs are ideal

 

If you have W0 or W1 series, a 250/1 amp would do well or if you have W3 or W6 series, a 500/1 would do well.

 

i have two 10 inch w3v2's with a 500/1 boston amp and they are knockin but i have the bass on the cd player at 0 because the bass is goin to the door speakers so now i need a amp for the highs with the crossover so if your going with a pair of w3's i would say a 500/1 will be good or ne thing around that.

 

how bout 2 250 watt amps so u get full power just a suggestion

 

2- 250w amps wouldn't be a bad idea, problem with that setup is you wouldn't be able to paralell the speakers and drop the ohms as you would be able to do with a single amp. dropping the ohms gives you more power from the amp.(if the amp is stabilized at a lower ohm).also a little food for thought. i've heard that JL's sound better in odd numbers. (1,3,5...) not sure why that is though..

 

it is because some of their subs have dual 6 ohm voicecoils. so when their wired in series or parallel, you can create different ohm loads then conventional 4 ohm speakers. they were designed to be most efficient in a 3 speaker set up.

 

unless your running some serious power, its always a better idea to have one amp for your subs. it can be tuned easier, less drain on the electrical system, easier installation, etc.
