'91 F-150 speaker sizes & suggestions

I want to replace the speakers in my F-150 and don't know much about this, but can follow instructions. Have looked at Crutchfield's site and they suggest 6 1/2 but have also seen 6x8 suggested. Anybody know for sure what size I need?

Any recommendations on brand? Have listened to a few in Best Buy and liked the sound pf the Alpines, but I don't drive this truck often, about 2000K/yr just to keep it running...farm truck. When I drive it, I like to listen to music and the old factory speakers are bad.

Already have a Pioneer (CDX-P650) 6 disc changer in it that I took out of another vehicle I sold.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Yes, 6.5" speakers for the doors. Not 6x8 factory - that's for 97 and up.
