How much did you pay for your Probox?

Okay, I emailed probox and asked about their dual 12" box for regular cabs and I got this email back:

"Greetings Scott,
The unloaded F-212 is now available with PROBOX PB2 300 WATT subs, developed by Pro Box over years of research. A custom loaded box! Well… the results are obvious.

We can refer you to a Factory Authorized PROBOX Retailer in your area, if none stock your item, Audio Engineering will help you order yours factory direct.

Suggested Retail Price for your selection is …$ 300.00 (plus COD and shipping charges, factory direct purchases are COD only. Make money order payable to Audio Engineering. When we are ready to ship we will provide UPS tracking #. This will allow you to track enclosure, as it leaves PROBOX and arrives at your shipping address. This makes it easy for you to take delivery from PROBOX & the UPS delivery person.)

Thanks, Billy
800-919-3313 call to confirm order"

So what I can't understand is was he just plugging the loaded enclosure? I don't see any reason for an unloaded sub box to be $300.00...

Correct. Personally I'd just get a pair of subs that I liked and use those. Who knows what PB12s are.

Regarding price. I paid $110 for the F-212 and it's well built with a very durable finish but the dimensions are way off in my opinion. The cab curves up behind the seats but the box goes beyond the curve which causes loss of leg room. If the designers' wish was to obtain maximum airspace then they could have designed it wider rather than thicker. Not that the F-212 has a huge amount of airspace anyhow standing at .75 on each side. Each of my 12 needs 1.25 cubic foot.

If you lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area I'd be more than happy to unload my ProBox to you. (In other words, I do not recommend the ProBox )

I dont have the dual 12" box, but the single 10" Unloaded box for my SCREW was $120.00.

LOL FBomb. The way I'm driving with my knees almost against the dash right now I'm ready to dump that sh*t on the freeway 1st chance I get. I'm just waiting to have enough $$ to get a fiberglass box made then whoever wants it can have it.

Makes you wonder, I'm not all that tall at only 6 feet yet I used to have the seat pushed all the way back to be comfortable. What do people who are 6'6 do then?

They're the ones that DO throw them out on the highway...

I'd like to make a custom box (Like I had in my old Ranger) but I don't have the time right now, fiberglass would be awesome but MUCH more expensive.
