Problem with MusicMoose dual 10" box for 05 SCrew
Problem with MusicMoose dual 10" box for 05 SCrew
I just got my box that I ordered from Music Moose Audio. Looks great and fit perfect in the truck... without the speakers mounted in it. With my two 10" audiobahns mounted in the box, the frames of the speakers hold the back of the box about 1/2" off the floor. The box sits on the speakers, and I can't (nor do I want to try to) put the seats down. Anybosy else have this problem? What do you think I could do? I already emailed MusicMoose. Waiting to see what they say.
Im assuming you have a downfire box ( If the speakers hold the box off the floor) Yeah man, do NOT jam them, you WILL damage the subs.
The problem with enclosures that fit under the back seats is A) usually the subs are taller than the box itself and B) you deprive yourself much needed airspace.
The agony of having a good amp and good subs, only to be denied having proper enclosure airspace.
A buddy of mine has a Ford Bronco. Has 2 RF 1000w 12"s. And a giant box. I unhooked my sub box, under my F150 backseat, and attached it to his sub box.....oh, I also have 2 RF 1000w 12"s.
The difference in clarity, not to mention volume, was borderline uncanny. I couldnt beleive it.

I myself am not a big fan of the Down-Firing Boxes. I ordered one from them and my Subs were sitting right against the floor and sounded like trash make sure you add polyfill. I had 2 10" Rockford Fosgate 500 Watt Rms Subs and a Rockford Fosgate 1001BD amp. I then Put 3 " Pieces of PVC pipe under them and raised the back seat. they sound much better but not as loud as I would like it. If you want big boom (over 500 Watts RMS) dont go with these boxes. I recently put 2"15 Inch Kicker CVR in the back and is so loud I cant even stand it.
Yeah, I would build my own box and keep my two 12's if I wasn't concerned about losing the back seat. Would kind of defeat the purpose of buying a supercrew cab to put huge speakers there. Is there any way to lift the rear seat at all? I was looking at the seats, and it looks like youi really wouldn't be able to because of the seat back being mounted to the rear of the cab. This box seems to be the only option for bass.
