I just don't know what to get....4/8 ohm...dual/single voice coil...mono/dual/multi channel amp?

I guess I'll get P2's They come in 4 & 8 ohm, but what amp do I get...I want to use the amp to run the subs as well as all 4 door speakers & tweeters too! Money isn't an issue...

Plan the speakers around the amp. Pick an amp, then worry about what voice coil config.

If the sub channel on the amp puts your 400ish watts at 2 ohms, then you need the 4 ohm subs, if it puts the 400ish watts out at 4 ohms, then you need the 8 ohm subs

I wouldnt deal with 8 ohm subs at all....get the 4 ohm ones and work from there.......99% of amps these days will work awesome with 4 ohm subs...8 ohm is for house stereos....leave em in the house.LOL i am even running 2 12 inch fosgates 8 ohms too

Umm, its called parallel wiring. Parallel wire 2 8 ohm subs to get 4 ohm.

if money is not an issue, then take your truck and your credit card to your best local stereo shop and tell them what you want it to sound like. a good shop will be able to take your description and design a system based on that. if you're having problems with ohms, channels on amps, etc. then i would have to assume you're a novice at this stuff and should probably leave it to the professionals.

But if you do do that, you better trust them darn good, or they might possibly try to screw you, it happens. The shop around here that everyone thinks is so great is pretty much a bunch of retards.

If you want everything ran by one amp, you probably going to want a 5 channel. 4 channels for the door speakers, and 1 channel for the sub/subs.

If I have time later I will try to pick out different amps and speakers and subs that work together good and make another post with what I find.

If youre looking to rock out hard, you may want to consider a class D sub amp. Wiring 2 dual voice coil , 4ohm subs in a series/ parrallel fasion, bridged, you drop your amps stability down to one ohm. But make sure your amp is 1ohm stable!

You can find a slew of reasonably priced, powerful amps, 1,2 or 4ohms......... But, realize the type of woofer and how you wire them has alot to do with it. Go to www.rockfordfosgate.com , click on the RFTech tab, then click on the woofer wiring wizard. This will not only show you how to wire your subs, but will show what type of ohm load will be produced as a result.

Good luck!

$$ no isssue...

if theres no price issue.. i reccomend a set of MMATTS subs, and perhaps a 5 or 7 channel amp via soundstream. *DAVINCI or tarantula series*, garaunteed the system will outperform just about anything you've heard.

MMATTS Jugernauts (SP)-pretty cool.

I was flipping through a Crutchfield cataog yesterday, and if you want to go with mainstream stuff, theres a 5 channel Alpine amp-model is like FMV450 or something, get some Type R components for the front, Type R 5x7's for the rear, and a Type S 10" sub.
Its all Alpine stuff, wouldnt actually be to bad of a system.

If you want sweet azz stuff-check these out-
Amp-5 channel PPI DCX 800.5 5 channel
Front Components-Rainbow Dreamline SLX 265 deluxe
Rear speakers-Rainbow Dreamline KX 5x7's
Sub-Hmm-do you want SQ or SPL?

So anyway, theres 2 systems, Ill put together some more later.

If you would go with a separate amp for the subs and speakers, there would be a lot more options.

after further review...

i have done some research, and you are correct the tarantula is a POS. but if $ truly is not an issue, they have something for the sound enthusiest... it's called the XXX series.

or perhaps another *less powerful* model,a lil bit more for showing as well as hearing. the human reign is nice..

either one would be a pretty sweet addition to ur sound arsenal.
