Another Speaker Question...

I recently upgraded my radio to the Audiophile system by purchasing the head unit, and the sub/amp that are audiophile. My question is...What is the difference between the regular (non-audiophile) speakers and the audiophile speakers? Is it just the tweeters? Is the audiophile a much better speaker overall? Should I attempt to upgrade entire speaker, or just add tweeters? Any help would be great.

Thanks

the audiophile speakers are made by Infinity. They are better quality, but still not as good as the bottom of the line aftermarket Infinity Ref. series. JBL makes the regular speakers. Harmann/Kardon ownes both companies. I would go with replacing them with aftermarket speakers.

Thanks for the replies. It just hacks me off that when I purchased my sub/amp from a seller in this web sites classifieds section, the deal was for sub/amp and all 4 speakers from the audiophile system. So far, after several e-mails, the guy has stiffed me on the speakers. It looks as I might be out of luck with them and have to cut my losses.

So, with that said, what do you guys recomend I purchase for after market speakers that with go well with the audiophile system?

How much you want to spend? Componets or coaxial? New speaks all around or just front one?

Personaly, I like Alpine type S. They have a nice "all around" sound for the money. They make components for our truck as well as coax's.

The best thing for you to do is go to best buy, curcuit city, or any car audio shop and hear them for yourself, cause everybody's taste is different. Some speakers have better highs and some have better mids, its all in what you like.

An amp is not required, however it helps in producing loud, clear and accurate music reproductions. Most components come with a larger magnet structure on the mids to handle more power.

So, if I replace my speakers to accomidate the audiophile system now. Would you replace all four speakers, or just the two up front?

I just put in new front ones and faded the sound all the way to the front, totaly deleting the rear speakers. Dont really need back speaks unless you like the "filling" sound. More of a personal preference type thing.

speakers

I am replacing my HU with an Audiophile unit and adding the sub (purchased on Ebay).
Do you need an adapter to hook up non-factory door speakers, or is it just as simple as +-?
Do the speakers need to run at a certain ohm?
I hear the amp in the HU is 80 watts, and some speakers need more power than the amp provides, is there a certain speaker that works well with this low power?
I want to get something that works well with the HU power and that will also work well if I add an amp in the future.

Lots of questions.....thanks!
