Box Design
I have a 99' Supercab. I need to be able to have 2 passengers on the 60 part of the seat, and at the same time be able to flip the seat over. The drivers side of the back seat is not needed to flip over or have a passenger on. I looked at truck boxes but are to long at nearly 30 inches. I thought of a design that is a truck wedge with a 5" top depth a 10" bottom depth and is 13" tall by 18" wide. Then to get more volume make plan to add a rectangle on the back which is 12" * 5" * 18". Box will hold a 12" sub. Figure the total volume to be 1.303 cuft with .50 MDF and 1.03 with .75 MDF. Will this box design work? Is it better to have more volume and weaker MDF or vic versa? The woofer is a JL 12w6 and according to my plans will fit. Can see spending hundreds of dollars for boxes and lift from SUBBOX.net and the stealthboxes. Sorry this is long winded, but I'am in desperate need of help.

Josh - the question is not will it fit... if you've figured the depth of the JL sub can fit your dimensions, that's probably ok. The question is whether that shape is going to sound ok.

Go to www.awpd.com. This is where I bought my box, I am running two 10's under my back seat in the supercab. The box was all one piece and it did not fit the way I wanted it to S. O cut in the groove where the metal is under the seat and sealed it off.
