Question Series-Paralel Wiring?

What is the best way to create the wiring? Would it be better to us a terminal block to split the speaker wire to each sub, or to solder two wires to one. Is there another way to do it that would be better? Im still figuring this all out and I appreciate all info.
Thank you

Tweeter,
It all depends on how you are trying to run your amp... Are you going to bridge it or run it as 2 channels?? If you are going to bridge the amp to run 1 channel then sloder both of the wires together and run 1 positive and 1 negative to your amp bridging 2 channels in to 1... the owners manual will have the specifics. Personally I think that is the way to go- It will pound... Oh by the way, are you doing this for a sub box?

Cool

tlapan,
I am planning on bridging the amp to one channel to run two JL 10w3. I am planning on building two sub boxes to go behind each seat of my truck. Since I am using two sub boxes I need to split the + and - somewhere.
Thank you

Question

tlapan,
If you run the + and - between the two boxes, where do you link the + and - from the amp into the chain? I am planning on using banana terminals on the boxes. At that point , can I cut the + and - between the boxes in half and solder the amp output there?
Just trying to get it straightned out. Thanks for the help.

Cool

This is how you do it:

+ from amp to + of first speaker,
- of 1st speaker to + of 2nd speaker,
- of 2nd speaker to - of amp.

If this is a 2-channel amp (2 pairs of outputs) then the owners manual should tell you which termial should be jumpered together to bridge it.

Tweeter, That is excatly how i would do it. sven- It would work like the way you mentioned, but only if the subs have dual voice coils.

Red face

Oops, that was for series.

For parallel, hook all the +'s together, and all the -'s together. Sorry for the brainfart.

Wink

Tweeter,
All you have to do is connect the + and - of each box together, then run 1 + an 1 - to the amp... simple. Good luck
