What to do?
I already have a JL Stealth box for my 98 f150, and it has w1's in it, and I have a Rockford Fosgate Amp pushing them. Right now it's just not thumping like I want it to. I don't know if I should start over, and try and put some 10's in it, or if I should upgrade the w1's to w3's, and get a bigger amp. All of this has to be done fairly cheap, because I have alread spent $570 on the system I have. I know somebody who has a 10" bass tube, so I might wire it up in my truck and see how it sounds.

Never had too much experience with 8" subs, but I am very happy with my single 10" high excursion sub under the rear seat of mine. I am driving it with a RF 500.2, which has a birth cert. of 710 watts into 4 ohms. The sub moves back and forth like 1.5 inches. I don't know the specs on the w1 vs. w3, but if the w3 is a high excursion sub, that might be the way to go, as long as you have the clearance from the cone possibly hitting anything. If your amp is sized large enough for the sub (You didn't mention the amount of power its pumping out), then I would look for something that can move more air. Either a high-ex 8", or maybe the 10's, with a box mod.

How many watts is your amp pushing to the sub?
If you wanna try upgrading it to a w3, they are supposed to hit pretty good. Most likely if you want it to really hit, your gonna have to add either another 1 or 8's or switch to a 10. Maybe look into IDQ's, there 8's are supposed to be nice.
A single 8 is great to add for more noticable bass and some punchiness, but unless you go to 2 or 3 8's it will not hit and pound like 10's or 12's

I would stay away from the 8's, I originally had 2 w3 8's firing down and was very disappointed.

Well I know what I'm goin to do, I went and talked to the guy who installed my stuff, and he said that my amp isn't strong enough, it is a punch 100. I think I'm going to get something bigger, as soon as I can find the money. He said that I'm not going to be able to find a 10 that can beat the box I have without lifting the seat. Does anybody know where the best place to buy an amp from? I probably need something in the range of 200 watts.

Sorry to hear about your disappointment with the woofs in your JLStealthbox. I have one as well, but it has the 10-in W3, powered by an RF250a. I have plenty of clean bottom end and, if cranked, can move the cuffs in my pants and make it durn near impossible to see out my rear view mirror. Hope your replacement JL does better. It should.
