Good deals on subs?

To start with, I dont know much about subs, but have done many head unit and speakers/wiring before. I have a 2002 F150 single cab sport, and am looking into a new stereo, but nee dadvice on only subwoofers. My friend at school works at a local audio installer/retailer, and gave me some prices in class, all products are new. ....

**JL audio 15" sub(huge), for $60 new. He has 2 in his Tahoe, and they are ridiculously awesome...but, no room for even one in my truck. ~$60(still need an amp, box, wiring, and headunit)

**Bazoka tube woofer for $50 which has a built in amp, i think he said 300 watts 8" sub, but cant remember for sure. ~$50(still....wiring and head unit)

**Package deal**Sony Xplode head unit(50wx4), and 4 Xplode speakers, 2 10" subs, and one 1600 watt off-brand amp. ~$300
(still....wiring)

The sony Xplode package sounds good, but I never hear good things about sony car audio....any input?? Closest thing I have thats sony related is a VCR and wirless phone...

What would you do if you had about $400-500 to get a nicer sounding stereo, too bad I am "straped" for cash....lol

I bought a 600 watt Kicker K600.1 amp for $250 and two Kicker CVR 10" for $168 at an Ebay store. Maybe an option for you. That's $418 brand new delivered to your door.
