A little ummmph!
I have a 00 Harley Davidson F-150, the interior is basically like a regular ext cab truck with captain chairs. I would like to put two 10's under the captain chairs but I don't see any room there, would be sweet though. I think there would be just enough room in the back to put a couple 10's under the bench seat. My problem is that I know nothing about systems so I have a couple questions for you guys that do! What kind of speakers, amp, setup, etc. would yall recomend and can you hook aftermarket speakers up to your stock radio/cd player. Also what kind of cost would I be looking at?

I have a RF 250a and Kicker Impulse amp mounted sideXside behind the rear panel on my back wall (Driver's side). I get to them thru the access panel. The RF powers my subwoof in my center console. The Kicker rocks the DiamondAudio seps up front. My HU powers the Kicker coax rear fill. This seems to be more than enough, altho' I'll probably end up amp'ing the rear fill as well, after I find better speakers. The Kicks' are nice, but I haven't gotten that ambiance I'm looking for. System kicks butt, tho'. Stevie Ray never sounded so good.
You can start your system by replacing the speakers, Harley'. It's the cheapest and quickest fix to a crappy sounding system. You don't have to stick with the stock 5x8 either. I have 5.25 round in front and 6.5 round in back (mounted on plates that fit the stock openings). I think you'l find, however, that you'll replace your HU in time anyway. Be sure to put sound dampening in your doors while you have the panels off (Rear wall, too!) It makes a difference!! Most guys use dynamat. Others have used mastic from McMasters, or "Weatherguard" from your local HOme Depot. (I did that). Spray the door interior with "Quiet Kote" spray (Parts Express.com).
I spent about $900 total for new HU, subwoof, f/r speakers, amps, wiring, matting, distribution block.

I replaced my headunit with a pioneer organic display, nice look. I replaced all of the speakers in the truck with MB Quart separates in the front (tweeter and mid-range) and components in the back. I have a MTX amp running those that I put under the driver seat. Under the bench in the back I have two 10" sony's. Both are in custom box, one on the far driver side and one on the far passenger side, they just barely fit. I have another kicker amp to run those right in the middle under the bench. I also have a 6 disc changer in the center console. I am really happy with the whole look and sound. Everything is hidden, the only thing that looks different is the head unit. When it was all said and done it ended up costing about $2800. But thats top of the line all around and installed. Good Luck!!!
