2 12's in a Regular Cab, can it be done????
I was thinking of going with 2 10's but I want lower hitting bass than 10's seem to offer. 10's are pretty sweet, I just want to see if I can fit 2 12's behind the seats in my Lightning. Has anyone seen this done? Pics? I need 1 cubic foot per sub, if that helps.

Limiting factor is volume of box, not size of subs. In the process of building a box, based on my measurements you can definitely build boxes that big, but will have to sacrifice something (arm rest/seat travel, rear speakers etc) My experience in a regular cab p/u is that decent 10's in a tight box with enough juice will out perform 12s except for total dcb's, but not that noticeable in a reg. cab environment unless you're going for outrageous volume. Have fun!

I fit two 12" Punch XLC's in a regular cab F-150 with a normal Dual Truck box built for 12's. IT hits haaaaaaaaaaard too.

Hell ya!! Two 12 w 6's
Take the time to make your own box. Trust me it will be well worth it in the end.

I saw a wedge box that fit behind the seat for 2 12" drivers that had over a cubic foot of airspace. It was or Rangers, but it might fit.

I am running a siongle 12"MTX Blue Thunder (6000 series) sub. My box measures 21"w x 13.75"h x 9"d1 x 11"d2. Comes out to about 1.25 cubes. hits hard and loud for a single sub. I only had to move the seat forward 1 or 2 notches. My brother who stands 6'3" has no problems fitting behind the wheel. I am currently running an MTX 4180 4ch amp, bridging ch's 3 and 4 for the sub. About 160 watts or so. I want more, but I gotta wait a bit.

I squeezed two Orion NT 15" dual voice coil subs behind the seat of a reg cab Ram 4x4. They hit pretty hard as well (would take the rear-view mirror and point it at the floor on hard notes)...but, as stated in one of the posts above, I had to make a sacrifice...my sacrifice was 2" of legroom, which ultimately made me decide to get rid of that box and put four 8" JL subs in instead.
Now I'm ecstatic just to be getting ONE TEN in my SCrew! LOL! Must be getting old...

It can be done... I had a friend that had two JL 12W1's in an 89 s-10. you'll probably want to build the boxes yourself (as he did) so you can maximize the volume; generic truckboxes won't take advantage of all the room thats available behind the rear seats. I actually bought the subs off him about 4 years ago (he upgraded to 12w6's) and put them in a new (homemade) box for my (RIP) civic hatchback. The last two years the woofers have been a part of my ac-3 home system (being pushed by a large late 70's vintage pioneer stereo reciever - they dont build em like that anymore - that thing is absolutely abused; don't know its power output, but it says it'll pull up to 420W from the wall @ 120V... never had any trouble with it, which is less than i can say for my 3-year old sony digital 5 ch. reciever). I just got my truck about a month ago after my sister wrecked my honda; i'll probably start building a box for it this summer and transfer the system over to the truck (which I love by the way - i got real sick of sitting 5 in. off the ground and having 98 ft.lbs of torque). But in answer to your question, it can most definatly be done; espcially considering the relatively large amount of room behind the F-150's seat.

oops... almost forgot... the 12w1's need around 1 ft^3; but my friend could only get about 0.7 ft^3 in his truck. they still sounded great and hit very hard, but when i put them in the bigger box that I built for my honda, they could achieve much higher spl and still hit just as hard... if they're quality woofers you should be able to get away with slightly small boxes, but they won't be as loud. if you use crap woofers you'll probably mess them up in small boxes
