Question Installing system, some questions...

Im going to install my system this weekend and Im going to try it myself. My biggest question is how to pry up the plastic along the door so that I can run the wires under it. I was going to run the power for the sub under the driverside and the rca cables under the passenger side. Anyone take these off before and know how to do it? Also where is the best place to hook the power cable for the amp? There is a main fuse box that is right next to the battery and the wire for the altenator leaves from this box. Would that be a good place? I dont really want it coming from the battery cause that looks kinda tacky. Is there a better spot? Also did anyone find a good spot to ground it? Thanks for any help!

I figured out how to pry the plastic up but was wondering if anyone knew of any FAQ or wiring diagrams online. I want to find out about what wiring in parrallel does and how long the ground cable can be and things like that. I also was wondering if you can use the exsisting wires to the factory speakers and hook an amp up to them to power the factory speakers. I looked at the wire routing through the door and it looks like it would be a major pain to route a new wire. Any help or links to information online would be greatly appreciated.

What are you putting in?
You will want to run the power wire to the battery because you want as much power as you can get to your amp, it won't look ugly if you use wire loom (black) and a decent fuse block, making sure you have a fuse within 18" of the postive terminal(That is the same size or bigger than the amp fuse), If you dont you run the risk of an electrical fire or worse. The ground must be 3' or less otherwise you will have severe ground noise and lack of power and it will drive you crazy, I find that the bolt holding the seat down is a good ground and make sure you sand the paint to get a good ground. If you have any questions feel free to email me, Audio is my passion and I cant wait for my truck to come in just so I can put this years equipment in. GOOD LUCK!!!
