Post Which Sub For A Unloaded Mtx Thundeform?

I'm gonna get an Unloaded MTX Thunderform. Now Which Subs should I Get For It? I have a Kenwood Amp thats 300 Watts Bridged at 4 ohms and its 2 ohm stable. The Thunderform takes 2 10's and fits Behind the Seat in my Reg Cab F150. The Thunderform Has a Cubic Volume of 1.8 cf

Cool

I'd use the MTX 6000 series (I think?) at the ohm rating you need to get 2 ohm load.
Where'd you get an unloaded one? How much?

ccla,
I would say it is all personal preference, and also how much room those thuderforms have. Since you know what the cubic space is , find a 10 inch sub that works in that space. I love the sound of Infinity but they are pricey, and JL are good as well. Hope that helps.

I would go with a JL audio 10 or try out the phoenix gold subs. I'm going to try some phoenix's this winter in my L. I have always used JL's and phoenix's.

I was going to go the same route that you are going and was going to use the Boston Acoustics 10.5LF Pro Series Subwoofers. These subs will fit in the box and for their size might possibly be the best woofer that you can get to fit into that box. I ended up getting 2 custom 10 inch boxes and an amp rack with a holder for a lighting audio capacitor.

My system includes:
Pioneer FHP-4400 deck
Memphis ST1000D amp (1100w@1ohm)
Memphis ST3004 amp (75Wx4@4ohm)
Memphis PR93 3-way 6x9's (front)
Memphis 2-way 5x7's (rear)
2x Memphis 15-ST104D (Dual Voice Coil Subs)
Lightning Audio Digital 1 Farad Cap (LSD10TB)

I've got the MTX6000s in a Thunderform, and I'm not really happy with them. However, I bought it loaded, so I don't have any other brand to compare it to, take it FWIW. They do ok down to about 45 Hz, but they don't handle deep bass very well. Roll off the bass at 45 Hz and they'll punch pretty good.

StevensBlack4x4,
Nah, I don't think it's the amp...I've got a Crunch 4000 bridged mono for 1x800 rms with a 1 F cap. It's not even breaking a sweat when the speakers start vibrating. I can actually drive them much harder if I roll off the bass at 40 hz on the eq. At least that way I can get them to peaks of 600w without distortion.
However, that being said, I don't for a minute think that the Crunch has near the headroom of an Orion HCCA or even a MTX. But it still is lots cheaper than a MTX rated at 1/4 the power. If I were into the competition thing, I'd want the most power to watt ratio I could get, regardless of the cost. As it is, I've got a truck with a 130amp alternator, so the inefficiency doesn't bother me.

Put some MTX 8000 in there it will sound alot better but you will have to modify the holes where the speakers go into.
