Cool

The box design depends on the sub.I built a box for my 150.my sub had a spec sheet telling me how many cu.ft the box needed to be.it also had cu.ft it needed to be if it was a ported box ect.look at www.sounddomain.com, in the forums search for box designs.found a formula for calculating cu.ft in a box.I used the design for a rockford fosgate box and just made it the right cu.ft for my sub.

PORTED BOX!! Please, please, please go for spl... For some specs and pics of boxes, go to www.xaudio.net. They have some nice designs and i'm particularly fond of the rectangular ports.

Just bought a 15" mmats juggernaut 1200 Watts RMS, 56 pound double stacked magnet. Damn i thought my truck rattled with the 2 12" power dvc's and 2 10" xlc's.....this is insane. I've gotta get rid of this thing or kiss my back seat goodbye!

First learn the box types and the sound your friend wants. Ported will be more for spl (and require less watts), and sealed would be more accurate and deep (but requires more watts). Those are just general views on the 2 main types, you can get very accurate ones w/ ported boxes and very loud w/ sealed.

Also the box design like wedge boxes, squares, rectangle, whatever shape can affect the sound. Though that subject I know to little about.

Space:

Is it a regular cab or extended?

MTX makes a great Thunderform for the regular cabs. They hold 2x10's.

Just a thought.

The truck is an extended cab truck. I believe he is going to go with one Kicker Comp VR 12. He heard mine and was so impressed that he is going to get one too. I have a 93 ranger with a downfiring box with a single 12. And does it hit? Oh you could say that. Or the trophy can. I have built all my boxes, always have. My only thing is, never having built a box for an F-150, I was looking for a design that would be different and custom. Thanks

Question

Red

How did you lift your rear seat? Did you just put spacers under it? Did you have to cheat the part you sit on forward cause it looks like if you move the seat straight up the part you lean against would get in the way. Or did you also raise the part you lean against? How comftorable is it now? Does your head hit the roof. Most of my friends are at least 6 feet and it would be nice if they werent getting the roof greasy Thanks for any input!
