Post Exchanging my Thunderform

I am trading in my Thunderform with the MTX 5000's in it for the brand new one with the MTX 6000's in it. I believe these will have a better sound and they seem sturdier than the previous version. They have that thick NBR rubber surround very similar to the Polk Audio subs. I'll let you know what happens. Gotta love that 30 day customer satisfaction guarantee from Cruthfield!

I am the driver of BIG RED! '99 S/C, 4.2, 5 spd, XLT, Bright Red Clearcoat, Medium Graphite, 5 Spoke 16" Cast Aluminum wheels, Lund bug shield, Limo tint, Pendaliner.

Audio:
Pioneer DEH-345 Head Unit, Infinity Reference 5x7's all around, Kenwood KAC-848 50x4 amp on them, MTX Thunderform loaded with two MTX 5000 8's, and an MTX Pro 75 x 2 Blue Thunder Amp on those beasts.

Things I want:
1. Dynomax Cat Back Exhaust (A-1 Performance)
2. Airaid intake

Unhappy

I was looking at the thunderforms w/ the 6000 series speakers as well. I asked the local car audio shop where I had seen them previously and he told me that they werent going to be able to get them in untill somewhere around MAY. Not likely I'll be waiting at his door. Where Did you find them with the MTX 6000's?

Well, of course, the big companies always get it first, that is why their price is so high, but I paid it. Crutchfield has them.

Cool

Thanks for the info on the thunderforms! I just called and got them to send me the new ones. It seems that one hour after they shipped mine that MTX came into the warehouse and opened all the inventory and swapped the 5000's for 6000's. I had a bit of trouble due to the fact that due to the MTX work, the part# for the new and old are the same! This confused the customer Reps. But they are doing an advanced return. They are sending me new ones and telling me to send the old ones back in the shipping box with a special enclosed return label--- Cool!!
