Regular Cab Subwoofer Options
So far went to a good independent (they got pitchures an everthang ov wat thay don) in Gainsville and they say a sub has to have a box!! I just might try to do this one myself as I was told I couldn't do what I wanted to do in my twin 300hp eng. jet boat and I did it any way and now I have become the sound Garu of north Isl. Lake Texoma. It ROCKS!! 60 mph and you can hear every note!! over that it starts to become noise.

Um...what about Free Airs...they don't need a box...I guess they don't specialize in them. You would probably be able to put an 8" on each side, anything larger I think would be impossible. Free air subs were made for the purpose of space saving....

Hey i have a 8" kicker substation and I love it just enough bass to enjoy and not be too loud it should fit behind your seat easily without obstruction. I only have one but two of them would also fit end to end.

I have seen some 8 inch infinity subs. A new model they have just released on ubid or ebay. They are slim and looked to be something that I personally want to investigate further now that I have another lightning. The tray behind the seat is not very usefull IMHO. I think these subs could be mounted beneath the seat and never loose any functionally height or rake. I forgot infinities url.

I personally have the super cab but when I had my ranger regular cab they fit behind the seat in that so I pretty sure they will fit behind the seat in the f-150. Ans the substation is like a bazooka only they are not self amplified and they are alot better quality and have more bass.

I would go with a custom box. I built mine with out too much difficulty, but it took a lot of time to sink the amps and x-over into the front. My box fits like a glove and I can move the seat all the way back. I can give you dimensions if you want. E-mail requests to jsp@showme.net

I've got two 8" JL Audio "Micro-subs" behind the seats of my reg cab. Sounds Great!! If you don't want to take up alot of space, one sounds just fine too.

Just finished my sub box.
The seat can go all the way back and the center console flips without having to move up the seat.
Also made a handy place to mount my amp.

I have a reg cab. XLT 4.6L. I bought a pre-fab box and put two Rockford Fosgate 12's in it. I took the jack out from under the passenger seat and mounted it behind the seat next to the box. Mounted my Subwoofer amp(Xtant) under the passenger seat and the High end amp(Pioneer) under the drivers seat. The box allows half of each speaker to be seen when viewed from the front, but it doesn't interfere with the captain chair's armrests, or the console, the seats won't go all the way back, but I am 6'2", 240lbs, and I am perfectly comfortable in it,(as comfortable that can be expected in a reg cab). I mounted my tweeters on the piece of plastic that sits right at the top of the door, looks like it covers the workings of the power mirrors. I have Alpine 5X7's mounted in the rear and the box doesn't interfere with the sound quality, MB Quartz 6 and a half's in the doors on a custom built plate. I use a Pioneer CD player and a Kenwood EQ. Overall, it will make your ears bleed, alarms go off, and make buildings shake.

ADS Makes a 6 inch subwoofer, you can put 4 subs in a sealed box and run it across the back of your cab.
