I bought some MB Quart PCE 6.5's for the front and MB Quart RCE268 for the rear with a Alpine MRV-F540 on those speakers. I've read some post where the back speakers are unimportant....that it's just filler sound. Are you saying you won't notice the difference with it hooked up like it is compared to having the factory speakers on my HU?
You will notice the diff. IMO, rear sound in a screw is needed. Not so much for you in the front, although I really enjoy it, but for anyone in the back seat as well. To me it helps fill my big cab with sound. Rear sound is not so much needed in smaller trucks and cars or even a Scab truck, but in my screw IMO, it helps and sounds better. It's very simple, it all comes down to what YOU like. Just take it step by step. Don't add them back there and see how you like it. If it's not enough, than add them.

Hey Dupius....I see your from Lafayette. I lived there for a while.I have a question for all you smart autosound guys!!! I went to a local place and this guy was telling me I could hook my amp to all four of my front speakers and power my sub with my amp. Do you see this as a possibility? I have MB Quart speakers with that Alpine blah..blah... He told me that as powerful as that amp was I could get a really good sound by doing that....What do you think. I was going to put that just on my highs and get a seperate amp for the sub, but I don't want some rattleing stuff I want a nice tight sound with bass you can feel in the cabin. He was saying that the amp would push the speakers more than the sub sound I wanted would. He also told me he could put the amp behind the back seat.

To me, it would all come down to what sub setup you go with. If it's a single 8'' then you could go that route, I have never hooked up an amp with that setup, but I'm sure it can be done. If your looking at say 2 10''s than I would go with another amp for them.
I have not removed that back of the seat, so I can't comment on the room back there.

You wire the 6x8's in parallel (front and rear right speaker on one channel and same for the left on the left channel of the amp) and then the sub will bridge 2 channels. Your radio fade would then control the balance between sub output and 6x8's output.
As for the rears are for fill comment, it best applies to regular and supercabs. In the Screw, your rear passengers would feel left out if you don't take rear speakers into consideration.
BTW: Having a separate amp for the sub doesn't cause the superloud/rattling bass. It's all in the level and cross-over frequency settings.
Also, decent 6x8's can produce bass you can feel all by their little lonesome.

Dolemite, I put my amps behind the rear seat of my 04 Screw. IMO this is the only place to put them in the truck. There is more than plenty of room back there...totaly wasted space if you don't use it. Getting the rear seat back out is a pain in the a$$ until you figure out how to do it. There are a lot of posts on how to do it on the boards but until you actually DO IT they really wont make any sense.
I mounted my amps on two pieces of 1/4 plywood I cut to fit the rear cab wall and then covered it in black leather. With the seat back in you can not see anything. It looks totaly stock.
I also mounted my XM reciever behind the back seat:

For the door speakers I went with Alpine SPS-571A 6x8 Component Speakers up front and Pioneer TS-A6870R 6X8s in the rear doors. The rear speakers were a nice touch and deffinetly not a waste of money.
