First of all, don't try to put 6.5" inch components in the front doors of an 04 FX4 Screw. They won't fit without either modification to the door or the the outer lip of the speaker basket. Second of all, the adapter kits for the 04 F150 (5x7 to 6.5") DO NOT FIT. I had to grind the top and bottom edges down to make them fit, and I had to enlarge the speaker cutout.

All that said, I finally got it all in and it sounds really good. I made my own sub box out of 3/4" MDF to hold my Rockford 10" HE, but I built it a little big, so it protrudes about 3" from under the seat. Not gonna mess with that again LOL, so I'm getting a box from Music Moose. Alpine 7995 is the HU, and a 5 channel Alpine amp to power the system (not real strong, but very clean).

I'm happy.
