money no object??? Get the CV Stroker 15's, and build a box the size of your house!!!

get a couple of the old PPI powerclass PC4100's

That's a quality waste of Joules.

RE, Adire, IA, all some of the best IMO

If your lookin for a nice SQ one check out the top model Titanium Eclipse's. Sound awsome and can still get pretty loud.

I dont think kicker is as good as people make them out to be...

In my opinion these are the best (in no specific order)- Digital Designs 9500 series, Image dynamics top line sub (cant remember the model), Adire Bramha, R.E. XXX, The mtx 9500 is ok, and the JL W7 series. I'm sure i missed some but i bet someone else will bring them up.

I always had a problem buying sound equipment from manufacturers whose name eluded to the sound or performance of their product... (kicker, earthquake... )

I know... it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the performance of the equipment... just one of my quirks

I'm the same way... just like Sony's Xplode series. Far from a sound explosion.

I guess you've never heard them. I have two kicker cvr12's in my truck, and they hit HARD with only about 50% power.

Kicker is great as far as SPL... I just prefer a tighter bass. As far as my preferences- Polk/MOMO, JL (W3v2), Alpine Type-R... and the new Alpine Type-Xs are sick. They actually seem a bit like JL subs. Audiobahn (noticed your amp!) is also one of my favs w/ their Immortal series.

If Velodyne still makes car audio subs (with the active servo controller) go for those.

Then again, I don't think there's anything good about going above a 12" sub.

I have a pair of 12" solo X's, and let me tell you I would not trade them for anything. They are mounted in an f250 extended cab. The back seat was removed and a box replaced it. I have a pair of Memphis Mojo amps putting out 2200 watts per 12". This truck puts out 155.3 dbs on a lab mic at 52 hertz. That frequency is still rather low. This is not only a competition system. It also sounds incredible. Remember that is with two 12" speakers.
