Sub Depth / speakers
I have a 97 F150 XL Supercab and I was wondering if anyone knew what the max depth a sub can be if I put subs underneath my back bench?
I've been to www.subbox.net or whatever it is and it says I can put in 10 inch subs, but doesnt say anything about a depth.. can anyone help me?
I'm also looking to put in new speakers throughout my truck, can someone tell me whats a good brand that isnt overly expensive because I want to change all 4 and Im tight on funds right now having to back to school
Thank you

I also have a '97 Supercab. It's been a while, but if I recall correctly, there is something in the area of 4 3/4" mounting depth, after allowing for the sides of your box, etc. I would think you could contact subbox.net and find out for sure. Their boxes may be a little different. In any case, your selection is very limited without a seat lift. If you lift the seat 2", the choices really open up.

Measure the usable distance between your floor and the bottom of the seat. That is about the mounting depth you will have available with a 2" lift kit. That 2" will account for the box dimensions and some space between the sub's magnet and the box. So you're left with available mounting depth equal to the distance you now have under there.
