great subbox idea

I got a 99 supercab and i came up with what i think is a pretty good idea. I plan to take off the cushion on the smaller seat in the back bench leaving the metal showing. Then making a box for any size subs, i think i'm going to go with 2 12's, and bolting it to the open metal. Anybody agree? Also the box will hold on the side an amp.

Are you bolting it down so it won't get stolen?

99 SC Sub box

I swapped out the front seats from 60/40 to buckets, then built a small enclosure to fit between them. Holds a single 10 inch sub just perfect (ironically I used an Infinity "Perfect" 10.1 sub!).

Don't think you can go much bigger though. The box JUST fits between the seats and under the arm rests.

I will try to get pics tonight as I just completed the box last night.

I simply removed the entire 40 portion of my 60/40 rear split. I'm working on a custom ported enclosure for an re xxx12.

I have an Eclipse, no RF, but my amp is an RF. But ,my next sub will be a xxx probably. Or a SE or brahma.

I think it will be awhile before another system. I got another 12 eclipse and ordered a JBL 600watt amp which i will get in a few days, and then my RF amp will go on some RE components and I sould be done for awhile. Im also in the process of making a new box that will also be the back seat.

Yeah thanks. I got the box in and it sounds pretty good, need to finish some stuff up on it.

I wanted the xxx comps, but the fact that the woofers need an enclousure kinda lessened my interest in them, plus the wait for them is getting to long. They were supposed to be out like 2 months ago werent they?

But I think the RE's will rock for only 150 bucks

Hey, If you do get those REs first, then decide to get the XXXs I might be interested in buying the RE's from you if you wanted to sell them.
